GOD
He is the Creator of the universe and holds all things together. He exists in three persons (otherwise referred to as the Trinity - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). He is infinite and knows no limits. He is incomprehensible. He is omnipresent (all-present), omniscient (all-knowing), and omnipotent (all-powerful). He rules over all things because of His sovereignty.
John 3:16 Genesis 1:1 Revelation 1:8 Psalm 102:25-28 Acts 17:24-25 Jeremiah 32:17-20 Psalm 139:1-6
JESUS
Jesus Christ is the son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He came to earth as fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary, atoning death on the cross for the sins of the world. He rose from the dead three days later. He now sits at the right hand of the throne of God and is coming back again one day. When we are in Christ, throughout our lives here on earth by sanctification we become more and more in Jesus' likeness as we are transformed by the Holy Spirit.
John 1:1-18 Colossians 1:13-22 1 Timothy 3:16 John 3:16 Romans 5:6-10
HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is the third member of the Trinity. After Jesus' ascension into Heaven, God sent the Holy Spirit to become our helper, comforter, and counselor. The Holy Spirit convicts of sin and equips the believer for ministry. The Holy Spirit lives inside of all who profess in Jesus' life, death and resurrection.
Acts 1:8 Romans 8:9 1 Corinthians 3:16 Galatians 5:22-26 Ephesians 1:13-14
GOD'S WORD
The Bible is the infallible Word of God - without error, fully inspired and written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It is true. It is trustworthy. I treasure it as a tool and guide to living in faith and obedience to God.
2 Timothy 3:15-17 2 Peter 1:19-21
SALVATION
We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus' righteousness and shed blood on the cross. We are all born sinners in need of a Savior. Jesus came to rescue us from our sins and died an atoning death on our behalf. Salvation is a free gift from God to all mankind who believe. When you repent of your sin and trust in Jesus Christ as Lord of your life, you become a new creation, delivered from all condemnation. Eternal life begins the very moment someone trusts in and receives Jesus Christ as Savior. Both heaven and hell are real. Hell is the horrifying destination for those who reject the gospel, and heaven is the eternal home of all followers of Christ. The gospel is the "good news" of Jesus Christ, and as a follower of him, we are to be on mission to share this news and make disciples.
Romans 8:1 Romans 3:23 Romans 10:9 Ephesians 2:8-9 Titus 3:5 Galatians 3:26
THE CHURCH
The body of Christ, all who profess to follow Jesus, live on mission to make Him known in the world. The church is not a building but a people.
Matthew 28:19-20 1 Peter 5:1-5
