God Is Texting YOU

God sent you a text will you respond?

In Tim Keller’s book Prayer, he teaches that there can be a divine conversation between believers and God. God has started the conversation with His text, the Bible. Our response, our side of the conversation, is prayer. Our prayers will vary, depending on where we are reading. While reading the Proverbs or books of the gospel,  we may ask God how to apply scripture in our lives. Reading in the Old Testament may invoke prayers asking for clarity about what we are reading. Praying a promise of God from Psalms back to Him is very powerful in building our faith in trusting Him to take care of us. In short, prayer allows us to “get” what God is saying. 

It is important to remember that even the enemy knows God’s word. Therefore, reading scripture is not enough to have a meaningful conversation and relationship with God. To really “get a message” from God, we must read his word, pray and respond.
